I suspect you are on the wrong layer. Make sure the layer is highlighted blue in the layers window. Also, when you click on the magic wand, make sure you click on the area you want to remove, and then adjust the tolerance to get the selection dialed in. When it is the way you want it, click the delete key on the keyboard.

    Hi Matt

I have tried your tutorial from the beginning but I am having a problem more or less instantly.

When I click on the magic wand button I do not get that “moving edge” like you do around the flower.

Any idea where I am going wrong?

    Thanks

    Lee

Don’t download from cnet as they are bundled with malware. Go to getpaint.net.

You will need to download and install effects packages. Go the the PDN “help” menu, and click on “plugins”. It will direct you to the archive.

In Paint.net, just go to the “Windows” menu and check off the “layers” selection. Or you can go to the bottom of the menu and “reset all …”
